Dubai and all that jazz

So last weekend I finally made it to Dubai. Now those who know me are very aware that this is a place I've wanted to visit for like 4 years. It was everything I expected. Now I didn't do the glitzy Dubai. I stayed in the Deira area which is known for it's millions of hotels, motels and busy feel. It's also where the Gold and Spice Souk is! Oh yea...don't get excited though, I got busy with everything else and didn't make it to either souk. It's ok though 'cause I LIVE here lol. I'll make it back...in fact I'll be heading back there March 10 for the Usher concert!!! Oh yea! It's his first time ever in Dubai and from what I understand all tickets for the Front pit and VIP are sold out with only a few general admission tickets left. Word on the street is this is a first for Dubai. Either way, I'm couch surfing and hitting the concert. Now for pictures from last weekend.....
Met up with some friends at Le Meridien for brunch.
This sign was at the train station.
Finally made it to Ski Dubai...didn't go in. I still don't like snow lol.

The Burj Khalifa-the tallest building in the world...so they say.
Dubai Mall, like most every other mall here has most any major name brand designer. I looked around, ended up at Books World and had lunch at TGI Fridays.

The dancing fountains at the Burj Khalifa.
                                        Union Square Metro station
