Insha'Allah

I now live in the land of insha'allah. Lack of control over things I consider very simple is a very new experience. Or maybe being here is ridding me of my illusion of control. I don't quite know. There is no such thing as routine, consistancy or even logic as I know it but I'm getting used to it.

My week thus far is a perfect example. Today is the third day of my work week and we had our fourth field trip of the week. Oh did I mention none of them were annouced. Even better, my principal was irritated when she realized that I knew about the first TWO on Sunday and I shared my knowledge with the Arabic teachers...no let's correct that. I asked the Arabic teachers for clarification, 'cause more often than not they are aware of trip that I know nothing about. They had no idea about the trips either. Yesterday was even better. I was in the middle of my lesson when the Arabic teacher told me I needed to finish. Why? We had a trip at 11am...it was 1055am lol. I just shook my head, laughed and told the kids to pack up. Insha'allah one day this week I'll get to teach something. Until then I'll try to remember where I live...the land of Insha'allah. I'll say this though...never a dull moment in the UAE.

Stay tuned Usher concert pics and video to come...
